Malawi’s leading commercial bankers, dubbed the Bank of the nation, National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has given K5 million towards the ‘Armstrong vs Onesimus’ mega concert scheduled to take place at the sport mecca, Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital, Lilongwe on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

The Bank’s Product Development and Strategy Manager, Ibrahim Chapeyama said the sponsorship reflects NBM plc’s commitment to supporting the country’s creative industry and promoting local talent.

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has boosted this year’s 93 Brigade Inter-Unit Sports Festival with a K6.4 million sponsorship, supporting efforts to enhance physical fitness, morale and cohesion among soldiers at Cobbe Barracks in Zomba.

The festival, which started on Monday this week, has brought together various units under the 93 Brigade to compete in different sporting disciplines.

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc on Wednesday donated K15 million to St. Martin’s Mission Hospital in Mangochi to support renovations of a paediatric ward that was damaged early last year.

In January last year, strong winds uprooted a tree, which fell on the paediatric ward’s roof, causing significant damage and rendering the ward non-operational.
