“WAKU WAFCON” POS SWIPE & WIN PROMOTION

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1. National Bank of Malawi plc (“NBM” or “the Bank”) is conducting a promotional competition to be known as the “Waku WAFCON” POS Swipe & Win Promotion (“the Promotion”).

1.2. The Promotion is intended to encourage increased use of NBM Point of Sale (POS) devices for card transactions nationwide.

1.3. Participation in the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1.4 DEFINITIONS

For purposes of these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

1.4.1 “Immediate family member” means a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or any person living in the same household as the employee or service provider.

1.4.2 “Service Provider” means any individual or entity contracted by NBM to provide services directly related to the implementation, management, advertising, system support, or execution of the Promotion.

1.4.3 “Authority” means the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA).

2.0 PROMOTION PERIOD

2.1. The Promotion will run from May 2026 to July 2026.

2.2. NBM reserves the right to amend the Promotion dates, subject to approval by the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) where required.

3.0 ELIGIBILITY

3.1. The Promotion is open to all individuals who make qualifying purchases using a bank card at an NBM POS device in Malawi.

3.2. The Promotion is open to both:

3.2.1. NBM customers; and

3.2.2. Non-NBM customers (customers of other Malawian banks).

3.3. Participants must be 18 years and above at the time of participation.

3.4. All NBM employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

3.5. All Service Providers contracted to NBM directly involved in the Promotion execution and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

4.0 HOW TO ENTER / PROMOTION MECHANICS

4.1. To qualify for entry into the Promotion, a participant must transact using any card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or local cards) at an NBM POS device.

4.2. A participant will qualify for one (1) entry for every transaction of MWK 50,000 and above conducted at an NBM POS device during the Promotion period.

4.3. Multiple qualifying transactions will earn multiple entries.

4.4. All qualifying transactions will be automatically captured through the Bank’s POS transaction records.

4.5. Participation in the Promotion shall be based strictly on qualifying POS transactions automatically captured through NBM systems. No manual entries or alternative submissions shall be accepted.

5.0 PRIZE CATEGORIES

5.1. The Promotion will consist of monthly cash prize draws and a grand prize draw.

5.2 Monthly Cash Prize Draws

5.2.1. Monthly draws will be conducted for the months of May 2026 and June 2026.

5.2.2. The monthly prize structure shall be as follows:

a) One (1) winner of MWK 500,000.

b) Ten (10) winners of MWK 200,000 each.

c) Ten (10) winners of MWK 100,000 each.

5.2.3. A total of twenty-one (21) winners will be selected per month.

5.3 Grand Prize Draw – WAFCON Morocco Experience

5.3.1. At the end of the Promotion, two (2) winners will be selected to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Morocco to watch the Malawi Women’s National Football Team (The Scorchers) at WAFCON.

5.3.2. The grand prize package includes:

a) Return economy international flights for two (2) winners.

b) Four (4) nights’ accommodation.

c) Airport transfers and local transport.

d) Match tickets.

e) Shopping allowance of USD 1,500 per winner.

f) Visa processing and travel logistics.

5.3.3. The travel will take place during the WAFCON tournament period between 25 July 2026 and 16 August 2026, depending on match schedules.

6.0 DRAW PROCESS

6.1. Winners will be selected through a random draw from the qualifying transaction entries.

6.2. The draws will be conducted at any location deemed appropriate by the Bank.

6.3. Draws will be conducted in the presence of designated Bank officials and any other relevant stakeholders as may be required by the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA).

6.4. NBM reserves the right to adjust draw dates subject to operational requirements and regulatory guidance.

7.0 NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

7.1. Winners will be notified within two (2) working days after the draw through phone call and/or SMS or any official channel.

7.2. If a winner cannot be reached within three (3) days, NBM reserves the right to disqualify that winner and conduct a replacement draw.

7.3. Winners may be required to present valid identification (National ID or Passport) to claim prizes.

8.0 PRIZE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION

8.1. Cash prizes shall be credited directly into the winner’s bank account.

8.2. Winners who do not hold an NBM account shall be required to open an account with the Bank for prize settlement purposes.

8.3. The grand prize winners shall be required to submit all travel documentation required for international travel, including a valid passport within Seven (7) days.

8.4. Failure to provide required travel documentation within the required timeframe shall result in forfeiture of the prize.

8.5. Winners shall be required to claim prizes within thirty (30) days from the date of notification unless otherwise specified by the Bank and failure to claim the prizes with the stated period shall result in forfeiture of the prize.

9.0 PRIZE CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

9.1. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for alternative prizes.

9.2. Cash prizes shall not be substituted with non-cash alternatives.

9.3. The Morocco travel prize is subject to:

9.3.1. availability of flights and accommodation;

9.3.2. visa approval by the relevant authorities;

9.3.3. travel restrictions or conditions imposed by authorities in Malawi or Morocco.

9.4. If travel becomes impossible due to circumstances beyond the Bank’s control, NBM reserves the right to substitute the travel prize with an alternative prize of similar value.

10.0 PUBLICITY AND CONSENT

10.1. By participating in the Promotion, participants grant NBM permission to use their name, photograph, likeness and prize information for publicity and marketing purposes without additional compensation.

10.2. Winners may be announced through press releases, radio, television, social media platforms and other media channels.

11.0 DISQUALIFICATION

11.1. NBM reserves the right to disqualify any participant if:

11.1.1. the transaction is fraudulent or reversed;

11.1.2. the participant attempts to manipulate or abuse the Promotion;

11.1.3. the participant provides false information during prize claiming.

12.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS

12.1. NBM reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where necessary, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approvals.

12.2. NBM shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claims arising from participation in the Promotion.

12.3. The Promotion is governed by the laws of the Republic of Malawi.

12.4. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with Malawian law and under the jurisdiction of the courts of Malawi.
