Enala Chirwa, NBM plc e-Banking Services Manager National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc in partnership with Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) have concluded a three-month ‘Kwathu Pa Mo’ promotion with a lucky winner getting the grand prize of six months’ rent paid by the bank.

MHC tenant Blessings Mbamba will not pay rent for the next six months for winning the grand prize while another lucky winner Tamara Msiska won a K500,00 cash prize for paying ground rentals using NBM plc’s mobile banking platform Mo626ice.

The promotion which started on 1 December 2021 and run through to 28 February 2022 was aimed at encouraging tenants and other people to pay their rentals and other fees through the mobile banking platform.

Speaking during the final draw in Blantyre, NBM plc e-Banking services Manager Enala Chirwa hailed the promotion saying it was a success as there has been an upsurge of customers using the mobile platform to pay their rentals and other services in general.

Eight teams in both men’s and women’s categories are expected to battle it out for honours at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (Kuhes) basketball courts as well as Blantyre Youth Centre and the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (Mubas) courts in Blantyre.

The ‘elite eight’ in the men’s category include MUBAS Wildcats, MUST Gorillas, ABC Lions, Bunda Buffalos, UNIMA Hawks, KUHES Lumbricals, MAGU Wolves and Mzuni Panthers. National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has announced first winners of the ‘Kwathu Pa Mo’ promotion which encourages Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) tenants to pay their rentals and other fees through the bank’s premier mobile banking platform, the Mo626 ice.

Three tenants namely Chioniso Moyo, Mary Gondwe and Thokozani Oscar Mbuluma will have their rentals for one month paid by NBM plc after emerging monthly winners for paying their house rentals through Mo626ice while Sheila Kaonga, a C.M Moyo and Mrs. Bernadette Simango got K50,000 shopping vouchers for paying their ground rentals through the mobile platform.

NBM Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Akossa Hiwa: The 12 days of Christmas has been very good.The bank of the nation, National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has donated items worth K11million to various institutions in a Christmas outreach program dubbed ‘12 days of Christmas’.

Replicated on the famous Christmas carol, 12 days of Christmas started on December 6 and will run up to December 22 where the Bank is donating items to different institutions as one way of celebrating Christmas with different stakeholders within the Nation.

On the first day of the programme 6 December 2021, NBM plc donated various learning aids such as text books and stationery worth K1 million to Kamkodola primary School in Lilongwe rural.

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc will celebrate this year’s Christmas with its stakeholders by donating various items to educational and health-care institutions through a programme named ’12 days of Christmas’.

Previously, NBM plc reached out to those in need each festive season through its Christmas Cheer program under which items were donated to three institutions in the South, Central and Northern Regions.   

This year, however, the Bank, has -through its Service Centres, identified 12 areas of need and will touch on each one of these areas from the 6^th to the 21^st of December 2021.
