National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has supported the Mzuzu University Vice Chancellor’s fund-raising walk for needy students with K1.5 million.

Speaking in Mzuzu during the cheque presentation, NBM plc Mzuzu Service Centre Manager Samson Mzungu said although some members of the bank participated in the fund-raising walk as part of the bank’s wellness progamme, they also support the initiative by the Vice Chancellor to keep the needy students in college.

“As the Bank of the Nation, NBM plc believes that education is the key to the development of the country and that is why we have supported the education sector especially at tertiary level for more than 40 years through sponsorships, school fees and best students’ awards among others.”

Speaking in Blantyre, NBM plc Head of Digital Financial Services William Kaunda said the promotion dubbed ‘Kwathu Pa Mo, will increase usage of the Mo626 platform which is secure, reliable and provides a rare banking experience.

“Our customers and tenants for MHC will not be queueing to pay for rentals or ground fees because the Bank of the Nation provides exciting financial solutions to them,” said Kaunda.

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has given K2.6 million to the Malawi Police Service (MPS) to help towards the law enforcers centenary celebrations scheduled for early next month.

NBM plc Mobile and e-Money Services Manager Enala Chirwa said in an interview at the weekend that one of the Bank’s objectives in its digitalization drive is to offer its customers safe and secure means to access and transact on their accounts.
